Red, white and blue

I love the proportions of this wall and chimney, one wing of a handsome house overlooking the town from Liberty Hall Road. Very Virginia.

That is a gorgeous shot mk! That chimney sure is tall!

This made me smile — when I was a kid, I'd always draw houses this way: a peaked roof, two paned windows and a chimney (and a door, of course). Which, now that I think about it, is really weird because our houses don't have chimneys!

Lovely shot. I especially like that you included the tree branches in the photo.

That chimney could be perfect for Santa Claus :-)))

Nice shot, good composition, and great title. Are you sure you're not a photographer? Your pics are all really good.

Thanks, Tanya!

Hilda -- I think this must be one reason it appeals to me, too. (The way I cropped it makes it look even more that way.) And maybe we all feel a home needs a hearth, even where it's hot.

Fio - Santa? -- Oh dear, I knew there was something I was supposed to be doing this week!

Ken Mac - Well, the blue sky seems to be the one thing my camera can do!

Clueless - I'm very sure (though I'm trying), but thanks so much for the encouragement.

Lovely shot and framing! I like these brick walls and the pattern above the windows.

Thank you, Rob! (I posted something today [Sunday] about this.) I appreciate it very much. Congratulations to you, too.

JM - thanks for your unfailingly kind comments.
